Bossed Up

Hey darlings…

Long time no post, yeah? I am so sorry guys. I’ve been going through some pretty overwhelming but exciting changes in my life lately and I had to take a  short break to sort things out. Apartment hunting in Lagos being one of these changes and boy, was that stressful! And in the midst of all that, I sort of lost my blogging mojo for a bit. Can you imagine that? Fellow bloggers in the house, does this ever happen to you? How do you deal with it? Thankfully, I found a great place and things are almost settled now. Huge thanks to every one who sent messages to check up on me; God bless you guys.

Enough about me! How have you guys been? Liking the new look of things here on the blog or nah? I was so bored with the previous look and decided to make some changes. I really do hope you guys like it. As always, please drop your thoughts in the comments.

Rocking this outfit made me feel like a total boss lady. Got me feeling like closing important business deals and what not. Those who say how you dress can affect how you feel about yourself surely did not lie, I tell you.
I’ve been so all about work-style looks lately and I can’t say this look was inspired by anything in particular. I just knew I wanted a put-together, confident and stylish look for work and here we are. During the shoot, I found that taking off my blazer gave the look an entirely different feel which I loved so I asked my photographer to snap away! What do you think? Which of the two looks would you rock? This is the first time I’m wearing a blazer on the blog; and a tiny part of me feels like celebrating each of these tiny little blog “firsts”. LOL. My shoes on the other hand have been styled on the blog several times in this post, this post and this post.

BTW, I thought to point out that every piece in my outfit could be considered work wardrobe staples. And if you are looking to make the most of your work wardrobe budget, stocking up on staples such as these are an absolute must. They just make dressing up easier and the outfit combination options are almost endless.

We seem to be gradually easing into the rainy season here in Lagos (even though the heat last night got me pondering the meaning of this life) and this is the time to buy rubber shoes, raincoats, and umbrellas, etc before the real rains start and the prices skyrocket.

What do you like most about my outfit? For me it’s my blouse because of the vertical details in the front which gives it a slightly vintage feel, plus it’s so lightweight and therefore super easy to wash!:D Remember guys, as you plan your next work outfit (for those of us who work) to dress for the job you want and not the job you have. It’s cliche but it works!

Enjoy the rest of your week people.

With plenty of love,

Moji 🙂
